One might expect this to be just another of the thousands of blogs dedicated to cinema, tutorials or gear. While there may be elements of all of these included from time to time, the core of this blog will focus on the creative journey and how the internal affects the external.
Even though there have been many resources over the years like Tony Robbins to guide in the pursuit of fulfilling dreams and overcoming fear and self-doubt, only recently have I seen more resources geared specifically towards creatives and rising above their internal struggles. They’ve helped me undo years of negative, crippling beliefs. My hope is to address the issues that create these struggles and take moments from my life experience to help others overcome theirs.
I’ve worked in video production for over twenty years and as I approach 50, I am about to enter what I feel is my “Second Act” because I believe I haven’t fully tapped into my creative potential and have my best work ahead of me. The challenge is to convince others to trust me with giving form to their visions as I launch my redesigned website and use social media to “create awareness” as Michael Port put it in his book and course “Book Yourself Solid.” I will update my progress as it develops.
This blog is a pathway back to a love I abandoned years ago because a supposed “real writer” helped me convince myself I couldn’t. The words you read here and in future entries are in defiance of that opinion as well as a celebration of how words of encouragement from a parent, spouse, teacher, friend, inspirational speaker to blogger can redirect your energy to a more positive outcome.
Thank you so much for visiting and I look forward to comments and a continuous dialogue that will help creatives break free from those things that prevent us from living a fulfilling life, from the inside out.
